Dr. Sam is currently developing Online training courses for Native Wildlife Owners, Exotic Wildlife Owners, and Veterinarians teaching them how to manage, handle, capture, and transport Wildlife. Having an capable, experienced team is the only way to capture safely and reduce death and injury to animals. A licensed exotic wildlife veterinarian is one part of a successful team. Dr. Sam will work at your ranch as part of your team and help you build your team to safely capture, handle, and transport animals. 

Dr Sam will travel to your ranch to meet with you directly, per form a herd examination, discuss your goals and needs, and work with you to get a management plan together. The DEA and State Board of Veterinary Medicine require a minimum of annual site visits for a veterinarian to prescribe out prescription substances (Ex Antibiotics) and controlled substances (Ex Capture Drugs). 

Dr. Sam is one of the most experienced veterinarians at capturing, treating, anesthetizing, and translocating White Rhinoceros in the USA. Having captured and moved many in Namibia and the USA. He also has experience treating extremely severe wounds and creating his own combination of drugs to capture these animals without etorphine or thianil.

Dr. Sam also has extensive experience working with, treating, handling, and anesthetizing Black Rhinoceros. 

Dr. Sam is a private pilot with the ability to travel directly to your ranch or regional airport. This can often be done at a moments notice with considerations based on weather and current scheduling.

Dr. Sam is a commercial drone pilot that is licensed to use drones to locate, track, and capture exotic wildlife for veterinary medical and relocation purposes.

Ultra potent opiates are the mainstay of capture in most of the world, especially Africa. There are a few other drugs that can be used to capture many animals, but for most super exotics (Nyala, Kudu), large exotics (Eland, Cape Buffalo, Zebra), and megavertibrates (Rhinoceros, Elephant, and Giraffe) they are the best option and in some cases the only option capable of getting these animals captured safely.

Intestinal parasites are a major cause of decreased production, disease, and death in native and exotic wildlife. Dr. Sam will get get a plan together with you to treat and/or prevent intestinal parasites.

Having a vaccination protocol is crucial for a successful exotic wildlife operation. Dr. Sam will get a vaccination plan for your herd that is manageable and effective to decrease sickness and death.

Dr. Sam is a veterinarian licensed in the USA with the USDA and able to perform and issue Certificates of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) for all animals. These are required anytime and animal crosses state boarders or country boarders.

FYI: Different states/countries have different names for their health documents. Ex Health Certificate / Certificate of Veterinary Inspection are two words for the same document.

Dr Sam is trained to perform necropsies (what humans call an autopsy) on native and exotic wildlife. Dr. Sam will seek the cause of death by performing an on-site necropsy with you and collect samples for diagnostic testing. Then based on the findings, he will work with you to implement practical changes to your program to prevent disease and death.
